Bright Stars 2-1 Soana: It doesn’t matter the match we are playing, We always want to beat Soana


The rivalry between Bright Stars FC and Soana FC stems way back from the FUFA Big League 2012/2013 season.

The two teams have met seven times (twice in the FUFA Big League and 5 in the Uganda Premier League).

Statistics read: 2 Wins for Soana, 2 wins for Bright Stars, 3 draws.

‘We shall never be friendly while on the pitch. Matches between the two clubs are always full of tension. It doesn’t matter whether it is a training session, friendly or competitive match. We always want to beat Soana’ said Robert Male who has been part of the Bright Stars team that has played every game against Soana.

On Friday morning Bright Stars returned to Nakivubo a stadium we used as our home ground in the debut season of the top flight 2013/2014.

The opponents were Soana FC  and there in no love lost between these two clubs. The coaches fielded different teams and the match ended 2-1 in favor of Bright Stars FC. The goals were scored by Faruku Banga and Male.

Bright Stars FC is preparing for the resumption of the Azam Uganda Premier League next week.
