In Mwererwe at the Champions Stadium
Bright Stars FC 0-0 Kirninya Jinja SS
The fans were hoping for goals. However they left disappointed when our strikers failed to hit the back of the nest with numerous chances created on Tuesday afternoon at the Champions Stadium when Bright Stars FC hosted Kirinya Jinja SS.
The game ended goalless but Joshua Kawadwa was the biggest culprit with missed opportunities.
Bright Stars who are now on 28 points played a solid game despite failing to score.
‘We are on course to getting our target this season but we should have done better in this game. We now need to step up the gear in the remaining games as we want to finish the season on a high’ said Coach Fred Kajoba.
With Kirinya Jinja deploying delaying tactics in a game handled by FIFA referee Ali Sabila, the Jinja based team looked contented with a point even before kick off.
‘The Kirinya players kept falling down a clear reason that they came to play for a draw. They were doing that to cool the tempo of the game’
The Lato Milk and Ferro Mobile sponsored Bright Stars FC will now have to pull out its four year experience in the top flight to finish the season in a respectable position.
Police FC will be Bright Stars FC’s next opponent on Tuesday 18th April, 2017 at Namboole.
