The Azam Uganda Premier league returns to action after a two week international break but Bright Stars FC will be hoping to build on their first ever win of the campaign when they play host to Maroons FC on Tuesday at the Champions Stadium in Mwererwe. Bright Stars FC won 2-1 against Kirinya Jinja SS before the break.
Ahead of the tie, team captain Nelson Senkatuka is geared towards putting up a good show in front of home fans before an away fixture on Tuesday 17th October, 2017 at Lugogo to face champions KCCA FC.
After spending time with the Uganda Cranes as they prepared for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifier against Ghana, Senkatuka will be expected to bring his tactics picked from the National team and share with his fellow players.
The goal machine told www.brightstarsfc.com that he has learnt a lot from the National team and thus looking forward to showcase his tricks on the pitch.
‘I have learnt a lot from the National team amidst the fact that I didn’t make it to the match day start list. It is such a great honor to be among the 25 players form the entire Ugandan population who were preparing for the match against Ghana’said Senkatuka
The Captain further said that the time and interaction he had with the senior and experienced players at the National team was a great motivator which will push him even at the club.
‘I have a season target of 15 goals which I am chasing therefore each game is so important. I can’t achieve this alone but with the help of my teammates it will be possible’ added the striker who has netted three goals this season.
The Stars go into game against Maroons unbeaten sitting 5th on the AUPL table with 1 win and three draws scoring 4 goals and conceding 3.
Head coach Fred Kajoba will miss the game as he serves his final match of the four match ban handed to him but assistant coach Paul Kiwanuka will continue to do the needful in his absence.

‘We won’t undermine any team as all games are treated seriously. Maroons FC is a tough team and we know how much they need this match but we shall be hungry for a good result. We are looking for maximum points out of this game so we have to be very serious. I have set my players ready for the encounter and to maintain the unbeaten run’
