Bright Stars FC 1-0 BUL FC in Mwererwe

Goal: Banga Farouk (20)

Net match: on Wednesday 15th Nov, 2017 against Onduparaka FC in Mwererwe at 4pm.

He is one of the few players who has been named in Bright Stars FC Starting XI in every game this season. With 9 games played, Banga Farouk has enjoyed a great start to the season playing all full games except one against Maroons FC when he was substituted with a calf injury. Except for the game against Express FC where his performance was below par, Banga has been delivering on all fronts in the midfield.

Banga netted the all-important goal for Bright Star FC against BUL FC on Tuesday in the Azam Uganda Premier League at the Champions Stadium in Mwererwe.

The goal came on 20 minutes with a brush off a beautiful delivery from a free kick.

Banga’s journey started three years ago when he joined Bright Stars FC from Azam FC of Bweyogerere. However he was taken on as a trainee at the club by Head coach Fred Kajoba.

‘I noticed Banga’s prowess with the ball in the midfield and the club agreed to keep him. I am not surprised at what he is doing now. However he has a lot to learn as he is a young player’ said Kajoba.

‘He has the energy and skill to protect the ball. He can also score the goals. He has shown that in training but we are glad he scored for the club’ added Kajoba.

Banga has been on the victorious side every time he scores. He was also on the winning side with the goal that sunk JMC 2-1 two seasons ago at Mwererwe. He scored the winning goal just like he did against BUL. No wonder all his two goals for the club have come against Jinja based sides who have never won in Mwererwe in the league.

‘I feel so happy to score. I play a lot of attack minded football from the midfield but the coach deploys me as blocker and I am happy to serve the interests of the team first. We work as a team’ said Banga who started his career in Lugazi with Kitega United, Lugazi Friends and Lugazi United.

‘I will continue working hard and I know the future is very bright at Bright Stars. We have our next opponents next week against Onduparaka and we are already planning for their visit’ added Banga who dons shirt 8 at Bright Stars FC.

The Lato Milk and Fero Mobile sponsored Bright Stars FC won 1-0 to collect maximum points to move to 4th on the table with 14 points. The next opponents are Onduparaka FC on Wednesday 15th November in Mwererwe.
