The Lato Milk and Ferro Mobile sponsored Stars had set the target at the beginning of the season to finish in the top 6.

Despite losing for the first time to Oduparaka (20) and also suffering a loss in the final game of the season-the first of its kind in the club’s journey in the top flight since 2013, Bright Stars will be proud to have produced the 2nd best scorer in the Azam Uganda Premier League.

Captain Nelson Senkatuka netted 15 times, two short of the league’s top net buster Daniel Serunkuma.

Senkatuka would have stood a chance to add to his tally hadn’t he landed a chance for trials in Japan. He missed the final game of the season.

Bright stars FC lost only two matches at home to Maroons FC (1-0) and KCCA FC (1-2) but managed to maintain double-header victories over BUL FC and Kirinya Jinja SS.  No team in the top flight registered a double win over Bright Stars FC last season.

The entire season, Bright Stars scored 24 goals from the 30 games played.

Nevertheless, Bright Stars FC playmakers Methodius Jungu and Seif Batte nursed injuries during the course of the league. They couldn’t show their full potential.

Mahad Kisekka, Henry Kiwanuka, Opejo Kokas, Joshua Kawadwa, Kasozi Remex among others took over their responsibilities immediately hence fulfilling the ambitions of the Club.

Kokas scored the best goal for Bright Stars against KCCA FC at Mwererwe and indeed it was a message to next season’s opponents since the young star is committed to the club with his contract still running.
