Reigning League Champions KCCA FC fled out of Bright Stars FC trap with just a few minutes to the end of the match at Mwererwe on Saturday.
Bright Stars tactical plans were successful before Mucureezi saved the visitors with a strike from a direct free-kick on the edge of the box in the 85th minute to make it 2:1.
Bright Stars FC midfielder Kokas Opejo had the moment of the season for the Bright Stars accordingly, he dribbled through a forest of four KCCA FC players before hitting the back of the net for the home team’s equalizer. It was attacking football and flair from Bright Stars right from minute one to the end.
Despite enjoying the best of ball possession, Bright Stars’ efforts upfront were denied by the outstanding KCCA FC goalie Charles Lukwago, who saved many attempts for the vistors during the course of the game.
Bright Stars captain Nelson Senkauka’s runs and energetic abilities created tension among KCCA FC defenders in the entire game, although his attempts failed to turn things round for Bright Stars. He is on 15 goals with a game left to play this season.
KCCA FC’s Nsibambi Derrick scored in the 35th minute before Opejo equalized in the 72nd minute, Mucureezi scored the second for the visitors in the 85th minutes.
Bright Stars FC remains in sixth position with 38 points while KCCA FC maintains second place on 57 points. Vipers leads the table with 59 points.
Bright Stars FC will face Onduparaka away in Arua on Friday 25th May 2018.
