The quartet played a key role as Bright Stars FC Junior Team finished third in the 2017-2018 season of the FUFA U18 Junior league  in Hat-trick Group during the regular season.

CAF C Licenced Bright Stars FC coach Frank Mulindwa stated that the selected players are aggressive and tested enough to represent the Country.

It is a pleasure to have our boys at Bright Stars FC being summoned for National duty. They are good enough to represent the Country. They have been vital in the Junior league last season where we finished third’ noted Mulindwa

‘They are solid and aggressive. They will give options to the Uganda Cubs coach in the defence. They can play on the right, left and in the center of defence. Ellokot and Sekajja were part of the team that played in the CECAFA U-17 Championship in Burundi.  They have matured now and can put up a better performance in the National team. Kasozi and Matovu are key players in our defence if they are given the opportunity they can deliver to the expectationsWe used the same players to beat last season’s  FUFA Juniors League Winners Vipers SC in the regular season. I believe they deserved the call up’ added Mulindwa.

The Regional U17 competition is a qualification to the CAF U17 Nations Cup Finals in Tanzania next year. The top four in the continental finals will qualify for the FIFA U17 World Cup in Peru 2019.
