Bright Stars FC Junior Team players chosen to represent Uganda in CAF U17 Regional qualifiers in Tanzania

CAF U17 Regional qualifiers

Three Bright Stars FC Junior Team players have been named in final squad to represent Uganda in the CAF U17 Regional Qualifiers scheduled for 11th -26th August 2018 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. 

The head coach of Uganda U17 (The Cubs) selected defenders Kasozi Samson, Ekelot Ibrahim and midfielder Sekajja Davis as part of the 20 man squad. the team flies out tomorrow morning.

The youngsters spent two weeks in residential camp at the FUFA Technical Center  Njeru. The trio featured in the Cubs’ five build up matches against Super Cubs FC, Bugweri County, Butembe County, Econ Sports Academy and Football for Good Academy Gulu.

During the build up matches at Njeru, Ekolot scored in a 2-0 win over Econ Soccer Academy from Entebbe.

According to Uganda U17 technical team, the three players had an outstanding performance in training thus earning themselves tickets in the final squad.

‘We are glad to be represented on the National team and i thank FUFA setting up the Juniors league program. They have made a follow up on young talent. It is of great importance to have our players in the final squad. It is the second time our players are being selected for region tournaments.  I am sure they will deliver to our expectations. They have made us proud at Bright Stars FC’ said  Frank Mulindwa-who coaches the Bright Stars FC Junior Team

Uganda will kick off the tournament against Ethiopia on 12th August 2018.

The Champion team from the tournament will qualify for the CAF U17 AFCON Finals in 2019 to be hosted by Tanzania.
