Bright Stars FC Head coach Fred Kajoba has declared that his experience in the previous Cup finals will guide his team  to their first ever Uganda Cup glory over Proline FC in Masaka on Saturday 25th May 2019

Kajoba made the statement during the pre-Match Press Conference for the Stanbic Uganda Cup Final at FUFA House on Wednesday Morning.

Kajoba was runners up (2010) and winner (2011) with  Simba as coach the army side.

‘I have the experience for Cup finals and all chances are on my side. We shall play an entertaining game and nothing can stop us from winning the trophy. Our Players are ready to deliver. They are in good shape and well motivated. This is my chance to lift a big trophy with Bright Stars FC. No doubt we are ready to give it 100% together with my players’ Said Fred Kajoba Head Coach.

In this season’s Stanbic Uganda Cup Bright Stars FC started on a high note with a 4-0 win over Kazo Excel FC during the round of 64. Angu James scored a brace, Jamil Kalisa and Juma Katende added the other goals before eliminating Bumate FC 5-3 in spot kicks after a 1-1 draw in regular time at the round of 32.

At the Round of 16, the Stars edged URA FC 2-1 away in Namboole with a double effort from Jamil Kalisa. In the last eight,  gigantic forward Brian Kayanja was the hero with a lone strike away in West Nile against Big League side Nebbi Central FC.

Despite drawing 1-1 in the 1st leg at home against Express FC in the semis, the Stars never gave up. In the 2nd leg a wonderful equaliser from James Angu led the game into spot kicks that ended in favor of Bright Stars (3-2) to seal a place in the first ever Cup final in history.

The squad that eliminated record Cup winners Express in the Semis is going through intensive training and defeated MUBS 1-0 in a practice match in Nakawa on Tuesday 21st May. Jamil Kalisa scored the goal.

Skipper Nelson Senkatuka will be hoping to led his team to glory and later join the Uganda Cranes in South Africa for the COSAFA tournament.
